Bio
An avid performer, educator, and composer, Luke Hahn ignites joy through music. Based in the Milwaukee area, his stage credits include Moon u/s (Rusalka, Milwaukee Opera Theatre), 1940's Bing (Bing Crosby: Christmas on the Air, Greendale Com. Theatre), Don Lockwood (Singin’ in the Rain, KCACTF Irene Ryan nomination), Gideon (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, KCACTF Irene Ryan nomination), Mr. Wickham (Pride and Prejudice), and George Bailey (It's a Wonderful Life--Zoom play). He has sung in concert through Violins of Hope WI (BWV 21 #8) and with Milwaukee Chamber Choir, and he chants at Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood. His performed compositions range from 2-voice choral works written for seniors to contemporary art song. An alumnus of Lutheran Summer Music's Voice Fellowship (pedagogy focus) and of the Acoustic Vocal Pedagogy Online Course, he delights in connecting in-depth pedagogy to real-life student goals at all levels of ability. He serves on faculty at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music as a voice teacher and teaching artist, and he freelances as a music director and children's choir director. A member of ACDA, He holds a BA in Music from Concordia University Wisconsin ('24), where he currently serves as Theatre Recruiter and EHS Officer.

In the last year...
Jan. 2026 - Luke facilitates a vocal techniques workshop at Living Word Lutheran High School in Jackson, WI. He and the students explored laryngeal anatomy and physiology, related it to different experienced vocal functions, and analyzed the use of those functions across genres.
Jan. 2026 - Luke attends the WMEA/WCDA Winterlude micro-conference, where he learns about elementary music education and Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance with Miriam Altman.
Dec. 2025 - Luke performs as 1940's Bing and son Harry Crosby in Bing Crosby - Christmas on the Air with Greendale Community Theatre. This staged radio/TV special featured nostalgic Christmas tunes from Bing's iconic holiday catalog. Luke's favorite songs to perform are "The Christmas Song" and "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy."
Sept. 2025 - The children's choir at Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood, WI and the Harwood Chorus at Harwood Place in Wauwatosa, WI begin their second year under Luke's direction.
June/July 2025 - Luke attends the Acoustic Vocal Pedagogy Online Course, taking observed individual lessons with Ian Howell, Chadley Ballantyne, and Ken Bozeman. The experience deepened his fascination with acoustics, revolutionized his teaching, and sparked a keen interest in functional vocal training. He also manages to convert Ian Howell's Hearing Singing into beach reading.
June 2025 - Luke music directs Moana, Jr., CUW Theatre's inaugural youth summer Theatre camp. The three-week experience taught him the joy of youth MT, the importance of relying on a team, and many songs he now wants to forget.
Mar. 2025 - Luke prepares and coordinates three touring performances of The Final Week in Jerusalem with CUW Theatre, performing as a swing. Written by Lori Woodall and Ryan Schauffler, this moving staged radio drama harmonizes the Gospel reports of the events surrounding Jesus' death and resurrection.
Feb. 2025 - Luke understudies the Moon in Milwaukee Opera Theatre's Rusalka. Pure opera fun with magical opera people.

Dec. 2024 - Luke carols with Wisconsin Dickens Carolers.
Nov. 2024 - Luke sings in his first concert with Milwaukee Chamber Choir, soloing briefly in Britten's "Hymn to St. Cecilia."
Sept. 2024 - Luke is hired in an additional role at CUW as Theatre Recruiter. (Thanks again, Steve.)
Sept. 2024 - Luke begins work at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music as a teaching artist in their community partnerships program and as a private voice instructor.
Sept. 2024 - Luke begins directing the inaugural children's choir of Luther Memorial Chapel in Shorewood, WI.
Fall 2024 - Organ lessons!
June 2024 - Luke attends the triannual LCMS Worship Institute as a Youth Choir Camp Counsellor, representing his alma mater. He performed an original art song "When Mother Reads Aloud" in recital and relished the community around making beautiful sacred music with his church community.
May 2024 - Luke graduates college with a BA in Music and nearly loses his mind scrounging for a job. He thankfully is hired as the Environmental Health and Safety Officer at Concordia University WI. (Thanks Steve.)
Feb. 2024 - Luke has the time of his life performing as Don Lockwood in Singin' in the Rain and garners a KCACTF Irene Ryan nomination. Just aren't quite words to describe how marvelously perfect the experience and people were. He also achieved a lifetime goal of tapping on stage.
June/July 2023 - Luke serves as Voice Fellow (pedagogy focus) at Lutheran Summer Music, where he took voice and pedagogy lessons with Daniel Greco, maintained a private voice studio, performed in several recitals, assisted with and led Liz Gray's class voice course, and met so many fascinating musicians.
